The Writing & Roleplay Program
A collaborative
D&D story
Over a few hours, a group of young people will take on a quest and work together through a Dungeons & Dragons story in a social but supervised environment. Throughout the session, participants will also undertake age-appropriate exercises to improve their
literacy and ability to write in a compelling and creative manner.
With unique literacy exercises
Our adventurers arrives at a quaint forest village and need to create a brochure to promote this year's harvest festival to nearby traders. They meet a famous fae queen and write a vivid history of her collection of crown jewels. At every stage, the facilitator is there to offer individual guidance, feedback and encouragement.
Bringing students' writing to life
The decisions that participants make in their writing are brought to life in the game world and help drive the story forward. This is an opportunity to build a love for writing, while cultivating all the skills that come from collaborative roleplay: confidence, lateral thinking, turn-taking, conflict-resolution and teamwork.
